Burping is a natural effort to clear the stomach from excessive air. For the baby, air is coming into stomach coincide with when the baby feeds on mother's milk. The more air entering the stomach, the baby become puffed. The baby become fussy, and even vomiting.

Generally burp the baby needs to be done manually until the age of 9 months. On top of 9 months, most babies can burp themselves. The position of her body had changed. So, for example, the baby slept on his stomach, the stomach depressed by his weight, so the air from the stomach went down to the rectum and then came out as fart. Another thing to note, do the breastfeeding technique correctly. Because, the bad position of feeding will make the air volume coming into your baby increased a lot.

If the baby didn't burp, then the baby would feel uncomfortable and would make him fussy. It was quite possible the baby would often cry. Also, it could make the baby vomiting. How to Make Baby Burping:

1. Putting on the shoulder (over your shoulder).

This is the favorite position and will be easily burp your baby. How? baby carried on the shoulder with her face to the rear. Hold the buttocks with one hand, while other hand holding the neck and patted his back. No more than three minutes, the baby's mouth will make a distinctive burping sound.

To be successful you should:

a. Keep the baby's body in an upright position / vertical. Chin leaned into his shoulder, shoulders straight down, and neck propped up hand.

b. Chin position should be higher than the shoulders. The mouth and nose uncovered. If this position is ignored, it will be very difficult to burp a baby, might can even cause vomiting.

c. Pat on the back slowly but strong enough. Do not be too weak but do not be too hard. Do not pat on the buttocks or on his shoulder because it's useless. Pat in the middle, below the left ribs.

d. Shake the baby's body when burp him not his feet. Like shaking a bottle. Don't shake him carelessly

e. Always hold the baby's neck. This is for avoiding risk of injury.

2. Half Position on Your Lap (sitting on your lap).

The weakness of this position, the baby will generally burping a little longer because its position is not upright. It is not easy. Baby half-sitting position. Chest and head jutting forward. Prop the neck and then pat the hull. The baby will burp. Avoid lapping the baby in flat position, because it will cause vomiting.

3. Prone position (lying face down on your lap)

Face down the baby in your lap. Pat the back. Keep the chest position is higher than his stomach. This can be done in the crib or baby bed. It will make the air in the stomach come out, this position also could make the baby more relaxed.

- Create a calm sound for babies, for example with a humming: tick-tock tick tock ...

- This method will make the air from the stomach come out through the "burp"

- When a baby appears to be burping, move from the front of your face

Some Mistakes

Several mistakes when burp the baby:

1. position of the baby's chin no higher than the mother's shoulder so that baby's mouth and nose can be covered with the mother's body.

2. the baby's position is sometimes not even straight.

3. patting his back is too weak and the tap is too high or in the shoulder, or just too low at the bottom (buttocks).

4. shake the baby too slow, which make a longer time for baby to blurp
